A Venezuelan national residing in Perrysburg, Ohio, has been indicted on federal charges. Anthony Emmanuel Labrador-Sierra, 24, faces a four-count indictment from a federal grand jury. The charges include possession of a firearm by an alien unlawfully in the United States, making false statements during the purchase of a firearm, and making or using false writings or documents.
The indictment accuses Labrador-Sierra of submitting a false date of birth to U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services on federal applications for Temporary Protective Status and Employment Authorization Documents in 2024 and 2025.
According to the original criminal complaint filed on May 22, 2025, investigators were alerted when Perrysburg Schools informed the Perrysburg Police Department that Labrador-Sierra was attending Perrysburg High School under false pretenses as a student but was actually a 24-year-old man.
The grand jury also charges that Labrador-Sierra possessed a Taurus G3C 9mm semiautomatic pistol without lawful status to purchase or own it in the United States. It is alleged he submitted false information on the ATF Form 4473 during the firearm purchase process. Among these alleged false statements were claims that he was a United States citizen or national and not illegally or unlawfully present in the country.
If convicted, Labrador-Sierra could face up to 15 years in prison for possessing a firearm unlawfully; up to 10 years for making false statements during its purchase; and up to five years for making or using false documents.
The case is under investigation by several agencies including the City of Perrysburg Police Department, United States Border Patrol−Sandusky Bay Station, FBI Toledo Field Office, and ATF with assistance from the Wood County Prosecutor’s Office.
Prosecution is being handled by Assistant U.S. Attorneys Robert N. Melching and Tracey Tangeman for the Northern District of Ohio along with Special Assistant U.S. Attorney Paul Dobson.
This investigation remains ongoing. Individuals with relevant information are encouraged to contact the FBI at 1-800-CALL-FBI (1-800-225-5324) or visit fbi.gov/tips.
An indictment represents only an allegation; Labrador-Sierra is presumed innocent unless proven guilty beyond reasonable doubt in court.
