A harrowing dental appointment turned legal battle unfolds as a patient alleges malpractice and distress against a dental practice. Billie J. Levert-Hill filed a complaint on December 10, 2025, in the United States District Court for the Northern District of Ohio against Glick Dental Associates, Inc., Dr. Chris Gebbia, and an office manager known only as Elizabeth Doe.
The lawsuit arises from an incident on December 10, 2024, when Levert-Hill was scheduled for dental surgery at Glick Dental Associates in Solon, Ohio. The day before the procedure, she was instructed by Cathy Doe to take medication including Valium and Percocet prior to her arrival. However, upon taking the medication and feeling unwell, Levert-Hill attempted to cancel her appointment but was allegedly pressured by Elizabeth Doe to proceed or face a hefty cancellation fee. Upon arrival at the clinic and after being administered Nitrous Oxide, she was abruptly told to leave without explanation after just ten minutes under sedation.
Levert-Hill claims that the sudden cancellation of her surgery was due to poor billing practices by Glick Dental Associates that led to insurance issues with Aetna. She also alleges racial profiling and discrimination based on her Medicare and Medicaid status as factors in the decision to cancel her treatment. The situation escalated when Dr. Chris Gebbia reportedly ordered her off the premises while she was still under the influence of multiple medications.
In a distressing turn of events, Levert-Hill recounts being forced into her car despite being disoriented from the drugs administered by the defendants. Her drive home involved several dangerous incidents including vomiting multiple times and hitting curbs due to impaired judgment caused by the medications. She also mentions hitting two squirrels during this hazardous journey through seven municipalities back to East Cleveland.
Levert-Hill’s complaint accuses Glick Dental Associates and its employees of breaching their ethical duties towards patients by failing to act in her best interest or provide competent care. She seeks actual, compensatory, and punitive damages amounting to one billion dollars for physical harm and severe emotional distress resulting from this ordeal.
Representing herself pro se in this case is Billie J. Levert-Hill with Judge Ruiz presiding over Case No: 1:25-cv-02677-DAR.
