Anthony Jones has filed a lawsuit against his former employer, alleging a hostile work environment and negligence. The complaint was lodged on December 18, 2025, in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Ohio against Securitas Technology Corporation. Jones claims that he faced an assault at the hands of a colleague and that his employer failed to address ongoing harassment.
According to the complaint, Anthony Jones began working as a Shift Supervisor for Securitas Technology Corporation at Taylor (Crozer Health) Hospital in October 2024. He alleges that on October 30, 2024, he was assaulted by Security Officer Quaran Harris during his shift. The incident reportedly occurred after Jones instructed Harris not to allow certain individuals into the hospital based on directives from hospital staff. Harris allegedly reacted aggressively, confronting Jones with balled fists and threatening behavior. This altercation is central to Jones’s claim of assault under § 2903.13.
Jones asserts that Securitas Technology Corporation was aware of Harris’s contentious behavior prior to the assault but took no action to prevent it. He accuses the company of corporate negligence under § 4113.06 and contributory negligence under §§ 4113.07 and 4113.03 for failing to intervene despite being notified of potential harm.
The plaintiff is seeking $250,000 in damages for assault and corporate negligence, claiming ongoing anxiety and mental anguish due to the incident and subsequent lack of support from his employer. Despite reporting the assault to his supervisors and human resources, Jones states that his concerns were ignored, leading him to request reassignment—a request that was also disregarded.
The case underscores issues of workplace safety and employer responsibility in addressing employee misconduct promptly. By filing this lawsuit in Ohio, where Securitas’s headquarters are located, Jones aims to ensure a fair trial free from local prejudice.
Representing himself pro se, Anthony Jones seeks justice through financial compensation for damages suffered due to what he describes as a hostile work environment perpetuated by Securitas Technology Corporation’s negligence.
Attorneys involved include William R Scharff Jr., who notarized documents related to the case. The case is presided over by Magistrate Judge Henderson under Case ID: 5:25-cv-02745-SL.
