In a recent filing with the United States District Court for the Northern District of Ohio, Isaiah Clark has lodged a civil rights lawsuit against the City of Mansfield and several of its police officers. The complaint alleges that on October 26, 2024, Clark was subjected to excessive force by law enforcement officers during a traffic stop in Mansfield, Ohio. The defendants named in the suit include Sergeant Nicholas Stevens and Officers Austin Hall, Joshua Adamescu, and Jacob Oblak. The plaintiff claims that these officers used unreasonable force, resulting in physical injuries and emotional distress. Clark is seeking compensatory and punitive damages as well as attorneys’ fees.
The lawsuit asserts violations under 42 U.S.C. ยง 1983 for unreasonable force infringing upon Fourth and Fourteenth Amendment rights. Additionally, it includes state law claims for assault and battery. Clark’s legal representation is provided by Spangenberg Shibley & Liber LLP.
The case underscores ongoing concerns about police conduct and accountability, particularly regarding the use of force.
