A federal grand jury in Toledo, Ohio, has indicted three men on charges of illegal reentry into the United States. The indictments allege that the individuals were found residing in the country without permission from either the U.S. Attorney General or the Secretary for Homeland Security, in violation of Title 8 U.S. Code 1326.

The three men are charged in separate cases and are not connected to each other. Gabriel Raymundo-Bernal, 28, a citizen of Guatemala, was previously removed from the United States at least once, most recently on April 4, 2019. He was located in Wood County, Bowling Green, Ohio on August 25, 2025.

Hitai Perez-Jeronimo, 27, a citizen of Mexico, had also been removed from the United States at least once before his most recent removal on July 29, 2016. Authorities found him in Putnam County, Ottawa, Ohio on August 7, 2025.

Rosendo Gomez-Santiz, 35 and also a citizen of Mexico, was last removed from the country on July 16, 2017. He was discovered in Williams County, Stryker, Ohio on August 24, 2025.

The investigations were conducted by U.S. Border Patrol-Sandusky Bay Station. Assistant United States Attorneys Sara Al-Sorghali and Frank H. Spryszak are prosecuting these cases.

“An indictment is merely an allegation. All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.”

These cases fall under Operation Take Back America—a nationwide initiative by the Department of Justice aimed at addressing illegal immigration and related criminal activity.
