A charitable organization has accused several individuals, including family members, of misappropriating funds and other misconduct in a lawsuit that highlights a complex web of alleged financial deception. The Colombian Christian Mission (CCM) and Dale R. Meade filed the complaint on November 29, 2025, in the United States District Court for the Northern District of Ohio against Susan R. Morris, Brian A. Morris, Nell’s Hill Holdings, LLC, Wendy M. Stoller, Marty J. Stoller, and unnamed John Does.
The plaintiffs allege that Susan R. Morris, who was trained by her mother to handle CCM’s administrative operations and finances since 1999, took control of these responsibilities in 2001 after her mother’s death. Susan is accused of using her position to misappropriate funds from CCM for personal use along with her husband Brian Morris and others involved. The lawsuit details how Susan allegedly paid off a $239,200 mortgage using CCM funds after moving to Maine in 2012 and later purchased commercial property for Nell’s Hill Holdings with unlawfully obtained money from CCM.
Dale Meade claims that upon announcing his intention to remarry in 2022, he faced resistance from the defendants who pressured him to retire and relinquish control over CCM. This led him to request financial records from Susan which she failed to provide while allegedly continuing to draw a salary without authorization. The complaint also accuses Susan of undermining CCM’s donor relationships by spreading false accusations about financial improprieties within the organization.
As a result of these actions, key supporters like Orville Christian Church (OCC) and Palmyra Church of Christ withdrew their support from CCM due to concerns raised by Susan about corporate oversight and financial accountability. Furthermore, Kentucky Christian University terminated Dale’s long-standing adjunct professor position following these developments.
The plaintiffs are seeking various forms of relief including actual damages, treble damages under federal law for civil RICO violations involving racketeering activities like embezzlement and theft through interstate commerce channels; compensation for theft or destruction under Ohio law; restitution for unjust enrichment; punitive damages; attorney fees; costs associated with investigating this misconduct; injunctive relief prohibiting further misuse or disclosure related specifically towards trade secrets such as donor lists belonging exclusively under ownership rights held solely within confines set forth legally binding contractual agreements between parties involved herein mentioned above collectively referred henceforth simply stated succinctly “Defendants.”
