Travon Robinson, a 32-year-old Akron resident, was sentenced on Mar. 30 to more than ten years in federal prison for trafficking methamphetamine and fentanyl while out on parole.

Robinson’s sentencing highlights the ongoing efforts by law enforcement to address drug trafficking offenses involving repeat offenders. The case involved multiple agencies working together to investigate and prosecute serious violations of federal drug and firearm laws.

U.S. District Judge Pamela A. Barker sentenced Robinson to 130 months in prison after he pleaded guilty in November 2025 to possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine, possession with intent to distribute fentanyl, and being a felon in possession of a firearm and ammunition. The charges stemmed from an incident where investigators discovered that Robinson was selling drugs during his parole following a previous conviction for heroin trafficking in 2016.

Court documents show that during a parole search of Robinson’s bedroom in early 2022, authorities found a grocery bag containing approximately 450 grams of methamphetamine. They also seized several cellphones, cash, drug paraphernalia, more than four grams of fentanyl, as well as a Beretta .32 caliber pistol with ammunition.

Robinson was designated as a career offender due to his prior convictions and will serve four years of supervised release following his imprisonment. The investigation involved the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF), the Ohio Adult Parole Authority, and the Akron Police Department.

Assistant United States Attorney Kevin E. Bringman prosecuted the case for the Northern District of Ohio.
