An Akron resident has been sentenced to 35 years in federal prison for leading a drug trafficking operation that distributed methamphetamine, fentanyl, and cocaine throughout Northeast Ohio.
Terrance D.N. McCormick, also known as TNasty, age 41, received the sentence from U.S. District Judge Donald C. Nugent after pleading guilty in May to several charges, including conspiracy to distribute and possess with intent to distribute methamphetamine and fentanyl, possession with intent to distribute fentanyl, felon in possession of a firearm and ammunition based on previous convictions for aggravated burglary (2003), domestic violence (2009 and 2013), and aggravated trafficking in drugs (2018), as well as possession of firearms in furtherance of a drug trafficking offense.
McCormick was ordered to serve five years of supervised release following his imprisonment. He must also forfeit $8,560 in cash, a Rolex watch, a Chevrolet Corvette, and all firearms seized by federal agents.
According to court documents, McCormick led an Akron-area organization involved in distributing methamphetamine, fentanyl, and cocaine during 2023-2024. He admitted working with co-conspirators to supply these substances across Northeast Ohio. The group used various residences and commercial properties in Akron for storing and distributing drugs. Members reportedly possessed firearms both to further their activities and protect their inventory.
Federal search warrants executed at McCormick’s homes in 2023 and 2024 resulted in the recovery of methamphetamine, fentanyl, cocaine, and three loaded firearms.
